Andaman Islands – An Exotic Holiday Getaway

Andaman Group of Islands are located 1400km off the coast of India, and well known for their scenic beauty. The only entry-exit point to this group is Port Blair, which is also the capital, and located on South Andaman. Diglipur, Smith & Ross Islands, Rangat, Mayabunder are other main cities of this island group. Some of the prominent tourist hangouts of this Union Territory (UT) of India are listed below:

  • Havelock Island
  • Rutland Island
  • Neil Island
  • Wandoor
  • Baratang Island
  • Long Island
  • Little Andaman
  • Jarwa Reserve

Apart from these, Barren Island is also thronged by travelers who want to see the only volcano of India. The infrastructure of this UT is minimal, since the 2004 Tsunami ravaged everything, even though reconstruction is completed and habitable situations have resumed.

These islands are well known for their beaches, as well as options for enjoying eater sports and seafood. Scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, sea cow spotting, swimming with planktons, scanning coral reefs are popular activities among tourists on holidays.
