Darjeeling: An abode of mesmerizing natural beauty

The unspoilt beauty of Darjeeling combined with enchanting and serene locations, spell binding scenery and breathtaking sunsets make it one of the most famous tourist spots of West Bengal, India. Darjeeling is famous for the aromatic Darjeeling tea leaves that is world renowned. Considered a queen amongst hill stations with lush green surroundings and famous hotspots; this beautiful town on the foothills of the Himalayas have attracted tourists for decades from all over the world.

This small hill station is one of the best escapades from the scorching heat of the summers and has some notable tourist spots that should not be missed.

The Tiger Hills: This impressive spot is at an altitude of almost 2590m and offers a spell bind view that will leave you enchanted. It is about 12km from Darjeeling, with snow capped mountains and unimaginable scenery.  You can also see the Mt. Everest from here on a clear day.

Tea Gardens: Darjeeling is famous for its aromatic and superior quality tea that is exported to various countries all over the world. Taking a walk down the tea garden can be really soothing experience.

Ghoom: Located 2 kms from Darjeeling, the town of Ghoom is at an altitude of 2400 m. It is the home to one of the oldest and most famous monasteries, the ‘Ghoom Gompa Monastery’, built way back in 1875.

Darjeeling Himalayan Railway: Popularly known as the ‘toy train’ and run by the Indian Railways; this 2ft narrow gauge railway is  recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It begins its journey from Siliguri and ends it in Darjeeling. While travelling in this wonder train you can witness enthralling views of Mount Kanchenjunga and Mount Everest.
