Kempty Falls: At just 15 km from Mussoorie

Kempty fall which is located 20 Km from Dehradun and 15 km from Mussoorie, Uttaranchal as one of the most popular attractions of Dehradun and Mussoorie. This place was developed by a British officer John Mekinan, around 1835 as a tourist destination. The name Kempty is derived from ‘camp-tea’. It is surrounded by high mountain ranges and is located at a high altitude of 4500 feet, the falls offer a breathtaking view as the water falling down from a high altitude of 40 feet further splits into five more streams.

Here, the water almost appears as if the streams are themselves doing a somersault before they hit the bottom. The Kempty falls are stunningly beautiful that set on the hilly terrains.

Yamuna is near the Kempty where one can travel past it some 12 kms downhill on crossing the Aglar River. The place is for those who are seeking the thrill of the gigantic falls as there are arrangements for accommodation in huts in the area around Kempty. The Kempty falls are closed through winter and can be visited from the months of March through July.
