Ajmer Shrief – Dargah Khwaja Sahib is one of the Powerful place in India

One of the beautiful and great experience of mine was when my parents took me to the powerful place “Ajmer Shrief- Dargah Khwaja Sahib”.

One of the holiest of the Muslim shrines is Dargah Khwaja Sahib which is the gesture of thank giving and a desire to communicate with the saint. People from far come here to offer prayers to the Khwaja at the dargah and wash away all the sins of the life. Now, it has become the major landmark of Ajmer.

In the city, we did not need the map to find the way, we just stopped someone and asked for the directions to the Dargah and we were guided to the mausoleum that lies beyond a huge arched red sandstone gate.

I have also noticed that there were no vehicles allowed beyond this gateway. We had to cover all the way by foot passing through the shops and stalls selling the sundry items.

My father explained me about Dargah Khwaja Sahib that was built in the 13th century by the Mughal Emperor Humayun and is approached through the famous Buland Darwaza. The dome is gold plated and the tomb is entirely made of the marble. This golden place remains crowded throughout the year. People bow their head in front of the Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti to seek blessings or express gratitude for the fulfilled wish. Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti was born in Seistan (East Persia) around 1138 -39. Akbar – the Mughal Emperor made the annual pilgrimage to Ajmer.

It is very necessary for all to cover head with the handkerchief or dupatta as soon as you enter the dargah. It is advisable to follow the rules, as the people are religious sensitive.

Thank you God and thanks my parents to give me golden chance to visit there. Now, I am waiting for the second chance and hoping to fulfill my wish as soon as possible.
