Lotus Temple: One of the most beautiful temple in India

This famous and pure white marble temple is completed in 1986 and and serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent, therefore, it is also known as Taj of Modern India. The Baha’i Temple has been constructed using cement, dolomite, marble and sand and surrounded by manicured lawns. It is spectacular in its design. The structure of this temple has 27 giant white marble petals as well as nine pools, indicative of the nine unifying spiritual paths of the Baha’i faith which believes in all religions.

The Baha’i Temple has emerged as a top attraction for the tourists. Travel to Delhi is not complete without visiting the temple. Baha’ism is considered to be a syncretism of the nine religions of the world and traces its genesis to its prophet Baha’u'llah, who born in Persia in the twentieth century.

You can meditate as Lotus temple has a striking though plain central hall which is 34.27m high. The Baha’i sacred scripture’s thought-provoking quotes are inscribed on the petal alcoves. This temple is at its most exuberant best when the sun dazzles these lotus petals. It set beautiful gardens also.

Lotus temple looks more divine in the night especially when the colored lights impart it a colorful look. You can visit the temple between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. While entering you have to remove your sandle, shoes and keep silence in the temple.
